ISSUE #9 - THE GREAT WHATSABUDGET FILMS EASTER EGG HUNT
In this, the season of the hunt for the eggs of Easter 2024, we at Whatsabudget Films are offering our newsletter readers a special game to play! The Great Whatsabudget Films Easter Egg Hunt!
This week on Medium, I wrote in-depth about the Easter Egging of our films over the years, and how we have worked these various visual, thematic, or dialog dropped Easter Eggs into our oeuvre.
Those who are watching with eyes and ears trained closely can be clued in on a sort of secret game
Well now we are letting the proverbial cat out of the bag. Not that this Egging of ours has been much of a secret, but now that we have officially put it into writing, the game is finally afoot! And by game, we mean the Great Hunt!
THE HUNT - HOW TO PLAY & WIN PRIZES
From film six through to our latest short (which marks number 62) we have included at least one Shakespeare reference in each of the films. We have also worked other Easter Eggs into our body of work.
All you need to do to qualify for the win, is watch through our YouTube channel of short films via the two playlists linked here! Share your finds on the social networks of your choice, then just email Rob the link to your posts to be entered to win!
3rd Place Prize = Exclusive Rancher’s Hotel Sticker
2nd Place Prize = E is for Expiation Cast & Crew t-shirt (signed by members of the team)
1st Place Prize = Download Link of completed E is for Expiation film
Participants will have until Easter Sunday, March 31st, 2024 to get their answers posted to socials and entered! Multiple entries allowed and increase your odds of winning. Answers should include the following format for your social postings:
“E is for Egg, man!
‘Film Title’ - ‘Easter Egg’ - ‘Identify the reference’
#GreatEasterEggHunt #EIsForExpiation”
Each Easter Egg found counts as an entry, and each entry gets your name in the drawing for the prizes! On the 31st, the drawings will be held, and winners will be chosen at random!
THE MEDIUM (ARTICLE) IS THE MESSAGE
And by “message”, I mean guide map to finding all of the Easter Eggs you are keen to collect. The article points out several of the eggs, while offering guidance on just where most of the eggs are hidden.
Don’t forget that the crowdfunding campaign is now live! We are counting on all of the friends of Whatsabudget to help us get the word out! So if you can, please donate. But if you can’t, please support the campaign in other ways like sharing what we are trying to make happen.
